Marcelo Nogueira
Marcelo Nogueira is a singer, actor, cultural producer and music teacher. He is a doctoral candidate in the Multidisciplinary Program in Culture and Society at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). He holds a Master's degree in Musicology and a Bachelor's degree in Music from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). He is also a research member of NuCuS - Research and Outreach Group Cultures, Gender and Sexualities (UFBA). His career has been marked by participation in various Brazilian musical theater productions and popular music shows, especially along the Rio-São Paulo axis, for which he has received numerous awards and nominations.
His dissertation focuses on how Brazilian musical theatre challenges the norms of cis-heteropatriarchal culture and promotes a "politics of subjectivation," offering marginalized audiences new perspectives on existence. Simultaneously, he explores how these productions shed light on queer identities and experiences within the cis-heteronormative audience, thereby contesting narratives of exclusion and prejudices related to gender, sexuality, and race.
