María Margarita is in the process of completing her undergraduate degree in Honours in Political Sciences at Concordia University. María Margarita was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela which has been the source of her interests in the studies of Latin American politics. Her main interests are in matters of inequality, environment, and governance. She has volunteered as a researcher and translator for Brazil-based NGO EmpoderaClima with the purpose of aiding their educational mission to raise awareness on the disproportionate impact of climate change in the Global South, especially on women. María Margarita hopes to continue her studies on Latin American politics and maintain her connections to her home country in this regard.
