Du 11 au 13 septembre, le colloque international “After Latin America's Human Rights Era : Back to Square One, Reconstruction, or Reinvention ?” a eu lieu à l'Université de Montréal.
Le colloque international a été inauguré par Luis Van Isschot (Université de Toronto), qui a présenté une conférence intitulée “Human Rights Counterpoint : National Liberation, Anti-Imperialism, and Radical Justice-Making in Latin America”.
Le 3 septembre, dernier jour, Delphine Lacombe (CNRS) a présenté une conférence intitulée “Struggles Against Patriarchal Violence and Human Rights: genesis and perspectives”.
Par ailleurs, quatre membres de l'ERIGAL ont présenté les résultats de leurs travaux : Garance Robert (UdeM), portant sur "The Human Rights Defense in Hostile Context : Nicaragua & Guatemala" ; Marc-André Anzueto (UQO), portant sur "Mapping Canadian security Aid with Transnational Human Rights NGOs in Colombia (2003-2023)"; Danielle Coenga (UdeM), portant sur "Anti-feminist/Anti-gender Politics Against Human Rights in Brazil"; et Rose Chabot (McGill), portant sur "Redefining Rights from the ‘Purple Zone’: Violence against Women and Feminismo Popular in Argentina".
Levy Charmain et Tina Hilgers, professeures à l'ERIGAL, ont modéré les panels “Feminism & intersectionnality” et “Backlash and conservatism”, respectivement.
Le colloque international a été une excellente occasion pour réfléchir sur les différentes réalités et les défis des Droits Humains en Amérique Latine.
